The villa complex was designed by internationally renowned British architect David Chipperfield. The two connected building cubes are staggered up a terraced slope, and the villa blends into the Mediterranean landscape with its clean lines and light-coloured stone walls. Chipperfield’s design was inspired by the pergolas of the south, which provide an airy roof over the terraces – supported by slender concrete columns. These take up the lines of the cypress trees in the terrain with its Mediterranean landscape, reaching towards the blue sky. The hillside location allows the pool and terrace to be placed behind the buildings at roof level, ensuring a unique view far over Lake Garda.
